The unfortunate death has been announced of none other than the Nigerian Ambassador to the kingdom of Spain, His excellency, Chief Demola Rasaq Seriki, a former Minister of State at different times for Interior, Defence, Agriculture & Water Resources etc, he was also a top chieftain of the ruling party- the APC.
He joined politics about 3 decades ago in 1992. After excelling as a teacher in America and administrator in Nigeria upon his return.
The brother-in-law of the famous billionaire industrialist behind the Eleganza fame, Chief Razak Akanni Okoya (Aare of Lagos) as he was married to Wosilat Okoya-Seriki, the billionaire’s only sister, died on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in Madrid, Spain at the age of 63 surrounded by his family.
He was the Otun Aare of Lagos. A title he was bestowed with in 2009 by his royal majesty, Oba of Lagos. Incidentally his brother-in-law (Chief Okoya) is the Aare of Lagos.
The unconfirmed source of his death is alleged to be Cancer, which he had allegedly battled for a while till he finally succumbed to its ravages today.
A statement released by his family read thus- It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude to Almighty Allah that we announce the loss of our much-loved and admired patriarch, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, His Excellency, Ambassador Demola Seriki, on December 15, 2022.
“He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Madrid, Spain”
He only just clocked 63 on November 30, 2022 as he was born on November 30, 1959 on Lagos Island, Lagos, Nigeria and just a few days short of 3 weeks after his birthday, he is dead!
He was married to 3 lovely wives- 1st being “Oluremi Demola-Seriki” 61, then “Wosilat Okoya-Seriki” 60, & finally Omosholape Safiya Demola Seriki 47- his youngest wife with the most intimidating resume of all, who followed him to Madrid, Spain in his stint as Ambassador to the kingdom of Spain. Solape is the 2nd daughter of the famous lady behind Biskets on Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos in the person of Hajia Bisi Shaba, who later became Hajia (Lady Evangelist) Bisi Dan-Musa.
If the Ambassador had survived his health ordeal, he would have clocked 2 years as the Nigerian Ambassador to Spain in January of 2023.
He was a teacher, administrator, a successful polygamist, a top socialite and great politician.
